Kate Hudson and Danny Fujikawa had known each other for 15 years as friends before they recognized there was more between them.
The two were first seen together in public in May of 2017; they had previously met through Hudson’s friendship with his stepsisters.
“Even when we fight, he makes me feel gorgeous,” the Fabletics founder told PEOPLE. “As much as things have changed, I know I am still loved. Because of his undying loyalty to our family, we have never felt more loved or protected.”
The Almost Famous actor and musician became parents to a girl, Rani Rose, on October 2.
Fujikawa stated of Hudson not long after Rani was born, “I’ve seen her do things that I can’t imagine doing myself and I’m really proud of her.” When she puts her mind to anything, “and I’m in awe of her for some of the things that she is able to do.”
After nearly five years of dating, in September 2021, Fujikawa proposed to Hudson.

Danny Fujikawa’s Career Took Him Into The Music Business
On November 13, 2021, in West Hollywood, California, Danny Fujikawa and Kate Hudson will be among the guests at the Baby2Baby 10-Year Gala hosted by Paul Mitchell.
Fujikawa fronted the Los Angeles band Chief as their lead singer and guitarist. Before disbanding in June 2011, the band released the EP The Castle Is Gone in 2009 and the full-length album Modern Rituals in 2010.
He and Chris Acosta, lead singer of The Delta Mirror, established Lightwave Records in 2013. Lightwave was created by the duo as “a method to share their music on their own terms,” as stated on the company’s Facebook page.

Fujikawa attended New York University to study recorded music from 2004 to 2006, but he “left early to travel the world and play music,” as he states on his LinkedIn profile. In college, he and his brother Michael, along with Evan Koga and Mike Moonves (son of former CBS executive Les Moonves), formed the band Chief.
Fujikawa said to Domino Publishing Company, “Chief has opened my eyes musically.” Since I no longer have to rely solely on my own efforts, I feel like a more complete human being.

Kate has two children from her previous partnerships with Chris Robinson (17-year-old Ryder Russell Robinson) and Matt Bellamy (10-year-old Bingham Hawn Bellamy).
