Their romance was initially made public in May 2016 when Kristen Wiig and Kristen Wiig Husband, Avi Rothman, were photographed engaging in some very public displays of affection while vacationing in Kauai, Hawaii.
Rothman, too has a background in comedy and has written and starred in his own projects, just like Wiig. His first film role was in the comedy The Slammin’ Salmon, released by Broken Lizard in 2009.
While it was known that Rothman and Wiig were engaged in August 2019 and that they had welcomed twins via surrogate in January 2020, it was not known whether or not they were married until Wiig referred to Rothman as her “husband” in a conversation about life with their infant twins on The Howard Stern Show on February 10, 2021.
“I am really fortunate to have my two babies and my husband, despite the fact that we are where we are, and it is difficult not to feel so much of the s—- and struggle that is going on. My entire existence has been altered by this, “As Wiig put it.

Kristen Wiig Husband Can Play Three Instruments, So He’s A Triple Threat
Kristen Wiig Husband Rothman is an actor, writer, and producer from Los Angeles who studied at the Groundlings theatre (where Wiig also studied). Numerous feature films, shorts, and TV programs feature him in either a writing or acting capacity. A bunion, a short film he wrote, made its debut at the 2015 WILDsound Film Festival.
At the May 2015 premiere of Bunion, he said to the WILDsound Festival Review, “I’d really like to finish writing and shooting a feature.” It’s been a year, and it should have been done a year ago.
Since the debut of the short film, Rothman has mostly focused on performing in independent features such as Silver Lake and The Blackout, in addition to numerous other short films.
He Has Appeared In Two Films With Wiig
Kristen Wiig Husband Rothman has appeared briefly in two films starring Wiig. First, Rothman plays an assistant at the oil firm Black Gold in 1984’s Wonder Woman. Wiig also has a larger role as Activities Guy Jeff in Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar, which he co-wrote.

Kristen Wiig Husband Rothman portrayed “Ogden the Inappropriate Yoga Guy” in a 2006 YouTube video. Rothman reprised his role as Ogden in a number of further films. He claims his own practice of yoga provided the foundation for the protagonist.
“About seven years ago, my sister inspired me to try yoga. I was hooked after the first several weeks and regularly attending five classes each week, “he said to The Laugh Button in an interview from 2010. “I tend to keep to myself in class,” I say.
And he went on to say, “People-watching is one of my favorite pastimes. There were moments when I felt like my yoga class was full of weirdos. Quite a few men were openly trying to pick up ladies, and I saw the same thing happening with women.”
He And Wiig Have Two Children
Rothman and Wiig welcomed twins via surrogate in January 2020, but they didn’t tell anyone about it until June 2020.
According to an interview she gave to InStyle in August 2020, Wiig discussed the difficulties she encountered while undergoing IVF with Kristen Wiig Husband, Rothman. Approximately three of the five years we’ve been together have been spent in an IVF fog, as Wiig put it. “It was the most challenging period of my life, emotionally, spiritually, and physically. Not being myself was a problem.”
After Wiig’s infertility treatment failed, she and her husband made the decision to have a child via surrogate. Wiig admitted, “I just recognized that I needed help.” Also, praise God; we found the most incredible surrogate.
However, Wiig appeared to mention Rothman and Wiig’s children in the credits of her 2021 film Barb & Star Go To Vista Del Mar, even though the names of their children were not disclosed at the time. One of the lines in the “special thanks” acknowledgments is “Avi, Luna, and Shiloh.”

As Jesus in a 2008 YouTube comedy video titled “Olivia Munn, Shirtless with Jesus,” Rothman played the role of the Messiah. Rothman plays “Modern Day Jesus,” who lives with Mary Magdalene (played by former Attack of the Show! presenter Olivia Munn), in the video. As Jesus deals with the stress of his “beautiful roommate,” he and Paul have a quick chat about their controlling fathers.
