Wife Says California Doctor Purposely Drove Family Off Cliff

A newly declassified search warrant affidavit said, the wife of a California radiologist suspected of trying to k!ll his family by driving his Tesla off a cliff along the Northern California coast said her husband was despondent and required a psychological evaluation.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported on Wednesday that Neha Patel informed rescuers many times that her husband, Dharmesh Patel, deliberately drove off a cliff in San Mateo County on January 2 in an attempt to k!ll Neha and their two children, ages 4 and 7, in an attempt to end their lives.

One official described the four people’s survival as a “absolute miracle.” The warrant quotes Dharmesh Patel, a radiologist from Pasadena, as saying that he pulled over to check on a possible flat tire. His story doesn’t seem to be supported by the evidence.

He got in his car and left. According to the Chronicle, Neha Patel informed a California Highway Patrol officer that her husband was depressed as she was being airlifted away from the cr@sh site. He threatened to drive off a cliff, and he actually did. I think he left on purpose.

Dharmesh Patel, 41, is charged with three counts of attempted m*rder, but he has pleaded not guilty. He is being held in j@il without bond. On June 12, the court will have a preliminary hearing to determine whether or not there is sufficient evidence to proceed with a trial.

Patel was travelling south of San Francisco on the Pacific Coast Highway in his white 2021 Tesla Model Y when he lost control and the car fell off the cliff at Devil’s Slide, plunging hundreds of feet to the ground below. The family had to be extricated from the rubble by firemen.

The below tweet verifies the news:

Patel was interviewed for the warrant affidavit after sustaining serious injuries to his lower body. According to the Chronicle, he revealed in an interview that his wife had become agitated soon before the cliff jump because she did not want to visit his brother’s house in San Mateo County on their way home to the Los Angeles region.

According to the affidavit, he claimed he was not clinically depressed but felt low due to the state of the world. “Asked if he felt suicidal, he said, ‘You know, not like a plan, not usually,’” the affidavit said.
