Columbus, Ohio – In the early hours of Sunday morning, a woman was shot in the chest during an attempted vehicle robbery in the South Side neighborhood of Columbus, according to the Columbus Division of Police.
At approximately 1:37 a.m., the woman contacted the authorities and reported the incident, stating that she was shot in the 1400 block of Parsons Avenue, near Advanced Auto Parts. Emergency services swiftly responded, transporting her to Grant Medical Center, where she is currently in “stable” condition.
Based on information obtained from a nearby surveillance camera, police revealed that a potential suspect arrived at the scene on a bicycle, attempting to steal the woman’s vehicle before ultimately fleeing.
