You Won’t Believe What This 12-year-old Brought to School in Norfolk!

On Thursday afternoon, a 12-year-old boy at Blair Middle School was caught and charged with bringing a gun to school.

According to a press statement from the Norfolk police, the student was detained and searched at about 2:20 p.m. after someone said he had a gun. It was said that a handgun was found in his pocket.

The student was charged with being a minor in possession of a gun and with having a gun on school property. He is still being held by cops as of Friday morning.

In a message sent to families Thursday afternoon, it was said, “The NPD and school administration are still looking into what happened, and punishments will be given based on the Student Code of Conduct.”

The message added, “NPS takes seriously the safety and security of all students and staff within our schools. We encourage our students, staff, and families to continue to alert us. If you see something, say something. Thank you for your continued partnership.”
