Young Thug Album Release Date
Young Thug announced his new album from jail. His new album Business is Business was released on 23rd June midnight.
Not shortly after his longtime partner Gunna released his own new album, A Gift & a Curse, Young Thug cryptically teased Business Is Business with a QR code that he posted. Gunna, Metro Boomin, Drake, Chance the Rapper, Wheezy, G Herbo, Coi Leray, Lil Durk, 21 Savage, Southside, and other artists posted the teaser online.
Young Thug’s debut album, Business Is Business, was released after he, Gunna, Deamonte “Yak Gotti” Kendrick, and other Young Stoner Life (YSL) members were detained in Georgia on gang-related allegations.
Young Thug was accused of participating in illegal street gang activity and conspiring to break Georgia’s Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations (RICO) Act in a grand jury indictment. In addition, charges for allegedly possessing drugs and weapons were brought against him. The accusations against Young Thug have been met with a plea of not guilty.

While Young Thug remains imprisoned and has repeatedly been denied bond, Gunna was released from jail after entering a plea of guilty to one count of conspiring to violate the Georgia RICO Act, and a judge once insisted that the rapper is “a danger to the community.” While Young Thug awaits trial, a number of his co-defendants have also had their cases resolved.
28 YSL members and affiliates were mentioned in the initial indictment. Gunna, Unfoonk (Young Thug’s brother), Lil Duke, Slimelife Shawty, Trontavious “Tick” Stephens, Antonio “Mounk Tounk” Sledge, Walter Murphy, and Antonio “Obama” Sumlin are some of the guys who have entered guilty pleas. Derontae “Bee” Bebee and Tenquarius “Nard” Mender, meantime, turned down plea agreements. Yak Gotti is still in jail as well after being rejected for bond.
Trial of Young Thug
Jury selection started in January, and according to the presiding judge, it might last until September. A definitive date for Young Thug’s trial has still not been set, and no jurors have been seated as of yet.
Despite spending a significant amount of time in jail, Young Thug has been on a number of recent songs, including Yeat’s “My Wrist,” Killer Mike’s “Run,” Calvin Harris’ “Potion,” and Rae Sremmurd’s “Royal Flush.” His appearance on Gunna’s “Pushin P” earned him nominations for two 2023 Grammy Awards, including Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance.
