Police say that an 18-year-old who was charged with trying to kill someone is now wanted for another shooting in Hickory.
On Monday night around 10:30 p.m., an officer was on patrol when they heard several gunshots on South Center Street near Ninth Avenue Southeast. When the police officer got to the scene, they found an 18-year-old hiding in the Dana Mini Mart on South Center Street.
The 18-year-old was walking in the area when a light-colored SUV pulled up next to him, according to the victim and witnesses. They said that a passenger got out of the SUV with a gun and started shooting at the 18-year-old as he ran away.

The victim wasn’t hurt, but there were a lot of empty shells at the scene.
Toland Huff Jr., who is 18 years old, was named as the suspect by witnesses.
In connection with the shooting, police are now looking for Huff on charges of assault with a deadly weapon with the intent to kill and fire a gun inside the city limits.
Huff is out on bond for attempted murder. He was charged with this after a shooting at Sunny Valley apartments on March 14. He is accused of shooting into two apartments, one of which was occupied and the other of which was not.
