A woman from southern California was sentenced to 40 years in jail after being found guilty of several child sexual abuse crimes, including getting custody of an infant to make sexually explicit videos.
Stefani Kasey Marie Stevens, 31, of Yucaipa, California, was found guilty in November 2022 of one count of getting custody of a minor with the intent to make child pornography, six counts of making child pornography, one count of distributing child pornography, and one count of having child pornography.
A U.S. District Court Judge gave Stevens a sentence of 40 years in prison on Tuesday. Once she gets out, she will be on controlled release for the rest of her life.
Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Los Angeles acting Special Agent in Charge Eddy Wang said, “People who hurt innocent children will be aggressively pursued and made to pay for the horrible things they do.” “This case and its prosecution should send a clear message: If you go after children, HSI and our partners will go after you.”

On Tuesday, the sentence was made public by HSI, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California, and the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department.
Between August and November of 2019, police found out that two Kik accounts had posted sexually abusive material to children. HSI said in a press statement that it was later found out that the two accounts were linked to Stevens.
Investigators also found out that Stevens put seven sexually obscene pictures of the same victim that he got from Kik on a Google account. The news statement said that the victim was younger than 12 years old.
In November 2019, HSI officers went to Steven’s house to do a search. She was also interviewed, and she said that she had made a sexually explicit movie with an infant and posed naked in 10 photos with a second victim under 12 years old.

Investigators found out that Stevens told someone online the day before she made the videos with the baby in May 2019 that she was “excited to take custody of the baby the next day so she could make videos of herself having sexual relations with him.”
HSI also said that Stevens took sexually obscene pictures of the baby and the 12-year-old victim in June of 2019. All of the pictures were kept in an online account with hundreds of other pictures and videos of children being sexually exploited.
U.S. Attorney Martin Estrada said, “This defendant was punished for acting out her disgusting sexual fantasies on two children, one of whom was an infant.” “Sexual abuse of children is wrong, and my office will go after those who do it in a strong way. Today’s important sentence is just one more sign that my office is determined to hold criminals responsible for their actions, especially when those actions hurt the most vulnerable people in our district.”
