There are so many reasons as to why a woman has not become pregnant and the latest reason is that many people are carrying their cell phone in their pocket. Yes, you read it right. Carrying a cell phone in your pocket might make you infertile and this applies to both a man and a woman but the warning is more geared to a man.
When this news broke, people immediately thought that they might get a brain tumor behind the ear that they held their phone to but they did not know it could affect their fertility. Please note that that there are no studies that are linking cell phone usage to testicular cancer but infertility is another matter.
A study done in 2007 on rats found that there was a significantly higher rate of sperm cell death and a study done in 2009 also showed that the radiation that is emitted from a cell phone has a negative effect on semen quality. These tests were of course done on laboratory animals and men are made of stronger stuff, right?
Unfortunately this is not always the truth and in recent studies done, the researchers studied the records of two thousand one hundred ten men at a fertility clinic for the years between the years of 1993 to 2007. Comparing users to non-users, sixty eight percent of the sperm had aberrant tails or heads in cell phone users where as fifty eight percent in non users.
So men, and women, watch where you carry your cell phone.
