McCain Says U.S.-Led Air-Strikes Is Needed In Syria
Republican senator John McCain has called on the United States government to conduct an immediate air-strikes in Syria to protect the civilians that are being slaughtered by Syrian president Bashar al-Assad. McCain said the US need to assert its military power with air-strikes to strategic places in Syria to protect the civilians who are dying because of the ongoing conflict in Syria.
The senator said the air-strikes will also allow the Syrian opposition time to regroup and plan their attacks against the present administration in Syria. He said after a year of armed conflict, now is the time for American forces to intervene to save the lives of civilians in the country. The Republican member said once the US intervene in the situation, other countries are more likely will support their move since it is aimed at protecting the lives of civilians in Syri a.
The United Nations security council already voted to intervene in the Syrian conflict. However, China and Russia opposed such moves saying such moves at the moment is premature. The action of China and Russia drew criticism around the world who think a military action is now the right time to do in Syria.
