170 Hasbro Workers Lose Jobs Worldwide
The global economy is not getting any better at the moment.The second largest toy company in the United States has decided to let go 170 of its employees around the world.
Hasbro Incorporated decided to make the job cuts to save cost and make the company even better. Hasbro spokesman Wayne Charness said 82 percent of the cuts of 140 are from the US. Charness assured the fired workers that they will get “competitive” severance packages, including outplacement services.
It w as learned that aside from cutting workers, will also undertake other cost cutting measures to make the company competitive especially against its rival Mattel. According to reports, Hasbro which is based in Pawtucket, Rhode Island has 5,900 workers around the world. In Rhode Island alone, Hasbro has 1,400 employees.
