5 People Injured After Gunshots at Fort Lauderdale Apartment Complex

A shooting incident is currently under investigation by the police in Broward County. The incident occurred on Wednesday night at an apartment complex located in Fort Lauderdale, specifically at the intersection of Northwest 19th Street and 29th Avenue.

According to a tweet by the Fort Lauderdale Police, officers were called to the area following reports of a shooting with multiple victims.

The incident took place in the courtyard of the apartment complex where a group of individuals had gathered. They were confronted by another group, resulting in the shooting.

Five individuals, including two juveniles, were immediately taken to Broward Health Medical Center for urgent medical attention. Among the three adults injured, one sustained life-threatening wounds, as stated by the police.

A resident of the apartment complex, who preferred to remain anonymous, witnessed the shooting and informed Local 10 News’ Bridgette Matter about the involvement of juveniles among the victims. The resident personally assisted one of the victims who had been shot in the leg.

Expressing fear and concern, she shared her frustration, stating that the frequent occurrence of shootings has made it unsafe for children to play outside. She also expressed her desire to move from the area due to these alarming incidents.

Law enforcement agencies are actively working to identify and locate the suspects involved in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and further updates will be provided as more information becomes available.
