Father Killed By Son In Fort Washington, Maryland: Officials

A man faces murder charges for reportedly taking the life of his father in Fort Washington, Maryland, as per the Prince George’s County Police Department.

Officials reported that on March 14, officers were dispatched to a residence on Den Meade Avenue following a report of an attempted suicide. Upon their arrival, they discovered 59-year-old Patrick Cooper experiencing trauma.

Patrick, the father of 22-year-old Christopher Cooper, lost his life at the scene, officials said.

Officers discovered Christopher inside the residence with several self-inflicted stab wounds, according to officials.

Christopher sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital, as confirmed by officials.

According to the preliminary inquiry, Christopher fatally assaulted his father before killing himself. An autopsy revealed that the father died as a result of blunt force trauma, officials added.

Christopher faced serious charges, including first and second-degree murder and related offenses.
