A 65-year-old Woman Was Stabbed to Death at the City Heights Mini Park

On Monday, a man who has not yet been recognized fatally stabbed a 65-year-old woman in a park near her house in City Heights. According to the San Diego Police Department, the victim was working out at Central Avenue Mini Park when the murder took place at around 8:30 a.m.

SDPD Lt. Steve Shebloski said that after the stabbing, the suspect, a man in his twenties or thirties wearing black slacks, white sneakers, and a hooded sweatshirt with a New England Patriots emblem, fled to the south through an alley.

Name withheld pending notification of family, however, victim died at the scene of the assault. The police claimed that the deadly violence began out of the blue, with no apparent provocation.

“There is no indication there was an altercation before the (woman) was attacked or that she was targeted for a specific reason,” Shebloski said.

San Diego County Crime Stoppers encouraged anybody with information that could lead to the attacker’s identification to call them at 888-580-8477 or visit their website at sdcrimestoppers.org. Those who provide anonymous tips could win a $1,000 reward.
