On Tuesday, officials at the University of California, Berkeley, announced that a human skeleton was found within an abandoned building on the university’s campus.
According to a statement released by the university’s police department, it is currently unknown how long the human remains were stored in the abandoned building on the Clark Kerr Campus.
The Clark Kerr Campus is a residential hall complex and event space that is approximately one mile (1.61 kilometres) away from the main campus.
According to the statement, there are no open investigations into the disappearance of any members of the Berkeley campus community. The occupants of the building “had not been seen in a very long time.”
The official cause of death will be determined by the coroner for Alameda County.
The distance from the institution to the centre of San Francisco is approximately 10 miles (16.09 kilometres).
