After a shooting Friday night at a business in Scottsboro, one individual has been charged with murder, according to the Scottsboro Police Department (SPD).
About 9:35 p.m. on Friday, according to SPD, police were sent to a complaint of gunfire at a business in the 2900 block of Veterans Drive.

Officers discovered Stevenson resident Aaron Morris Nix, 33, dead from a gunshot wound when they arrived, according to SPD.
Jerry Carl Hicks, 25, of Flat Rock was detained and charged with homicide during the first inquiry, according to SPD. He was taken to the Jackson County Prison, where there is now no bond.
According to SPD, the situation is currently being investigated and there is no other information at this moment.
