Beaufort County authorities have apprehended two individuals following an incident in which a 7-year-old girl sustained injuries from gunfire. The incident unfolded on Saturday, shortly after 5:30 p.m., at the Hallmark Homes on Malphrus Road. Beaufort County deputies were initially called to address damage to a vehicle caused by a bullet.
Upon their arrival, investigators uncovered that the incident occurred around 3 p.m. when a white SUV entered the parking lot and fired multiple shots toward an apartment building. Tragically, a young girl was outside during the shooting, attempting to seek refuge in her apartment when she was struck by a stray bullet, sustaining an arm injury.
The investigation further revealed that an altercation had taken place earlier that day, approximately at 2:45 p.m., involving two men near a trail situated between Hallmark Homes and the Olde Town Village community.

Subsequent inquiries led investigators to execute a search warrant at a residence on Covington Lane in Bluffton, S.C. As a result, Carlos Joaquin Anchorena, 23, and Carlos Isaac Anchorena, 45, both hailing from Bluffton, were arrested. The Anchorenas are confirmed to be father and son, according to sources.
It is believed that one of the men involved in the earlier altercation was present at the Hallmark Apartments when the two Anchorenas drove into the community and discharged firearms toward him. Despite his whereabouts being known to investigators, the individual has not been located and is presumed unharmed.
Officials assert that the motivation behind the shooting was linked to the earlier dispute. Carlos Joaquin Anchorena faces charges including assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, possession of an unlawful sawed-off shotgun, possession of a weapon during a violent crime, and aggravated breach of peace.
