Heartbreaking News: Boulder Mother Faces Charges for Baby’s Murder

A 29-year-old Colorado mother was arrested Sunday on suspicion of killing her infant son. After the death of the 2-month-old newborn, whose name has not been disclosed, police arrested Anna Louise Englund on murder charges on Saturday night.

A welfare check on Englund reportedly brought police to his north Boulder house late on a Saturday. A press announcement stated that Englund was “possibly having a mental health crisis.” She and the boy had already left by the time police arrived.

Eyewitnesses said, she and the baby were seen leaving the house in her car. After notifying other departments, Boulder police officers started looking for Englund’s vehicle. The vehicle wasn’t found until well after midnight.

The below tweet verifies the news:

When Englund arrived at the parking lot of Foothills Hospital, located at 4747 Arapahoe Avenue, she was contacted by police. The infant was rushed to the hospital, but doctors there declared him or her dead shortly before 11 p.m.

First-degree murder and child abuse leading to death charges have been filed against Englund. It is unclear how she may have killed the kid at this time. Police Chief Maris Herold of Boulder described the incident as “tragic.”

She released a statement saying, “Our hearts are with the child’s family during this terrible and difficult time.” “We are thinking about the child’s loved ones as they grieve all that has happened.”
