Given Instacart’s meteoric rise to become the leading online grocery service in North America, the introduction of a credit card seemed a foregone conclusion.
During the epidemic, millions of people relied on Instacart and other grocery delivery services to help them stock their pantries without risking infection. Instacart’s 40,000 local partner stores cover more than 5,500 cities, allowing clients to shop for and have delivered 500 million items.
During the height of the pandemic, this author found great comfort in using Instacart and has fond memories of chatting with her personal shopper via the app. When my go-to brand of pickles was temporarily out of stock, she went above and above to assist me in finding a suitable replacement.
The purpose of this article is to determine if the new Instacart Mastercard® lives up to the hype. It turns out that this is the case. There aren’t many better credit cards that don’t charge an annual fee than this one.

Look at all these extra perks, none of which cost anything:
World Elite Concierge: Concierge service, you have access to a dedicated concierge who is available around the clock to help you with everything you need. The services offered by the concierge include dining reservations and the tracking down of hard-to-find items.
Extended Warranty Protection: If a US manufacturer’s warranty is less than four years long, this plan will extend it by an extra year at no extra cost to you.
Purchase Protection: Your new purchases are protected from loss or theft up to the claim and account limitations for a certain time period after the date of purchase.
Baggage Delay Insurance: If your bags are delayed for more than six hours by your passenger carrier, the insurance will compensate you for necessities like new clothes and toiletries. There are daily maximums for how much you can be reimbursed.
Lost Luggage Reimbursement: If your checked or carried-on bags are damaged or lost by the airline, you are eligible for compensation up to the policy’s maximum per passenger.
Travel and Emergency Assistance Services: If you run into trouble while traveling and need referrals to a doctor or the law or any other kind of emergency help, you can reach the Chase Travel Center Benefits Administrator by dialing +1-800-952-5227.
Travel Accident Insurance: When you use your credit card to pay for your airplane, bus, train, or ship fare, you’ll be covered for accidental death and dismemberment up to the policy’s limits.
Roadside Assistance: In the event of a roadside emergency, you can contact the Benefit Administrator, who will provide the appropriate assistance.
Auto Rental Collision Damage Waiver: To avoid paying for the rental car company’s collision insurance, just put the whole thing on your credit card. Most cars driven in the United States and overseas are covered against theft and collision damage. In the United States, coverage is supplemental to the policyholder’s primary automobile insurance.
More importantly, there is no additional cost for using the card abroad. Such perks are more typical of a high-end travel credit card than of a no-fee Mastercard designed for online grocery shopping. In addition to the Chase perks, you also get the perks that come with having a World Elite Mastercard.
Redemption of Rewards
In a number of methods, you can cash in your points for prizes:
Cash back: A statement credit or direct deposit into a qualifying checking or savings account at a US financial institution is available for redemption of any number of points. For every 100 points you earn, we’ll give you $1 back.
Gift cards: To make a purchase of a gift card, you can use your points as payment. The time period during which gift cards can be redeemed may shift.
Travel purchases: You can redeem points for travel expenses at the issuer’s travel agency, where you can use them to buy airfare, hotel stays, vehicle rentals, and more. If you don’t have enough points for a trip, you can use your card to cover the difference.
Pay with Points: Pay with Points is a convenient way to pay for your regular Instacart or Instacart.com orders with your accumulated cash-back incentives. This is an accepted payment option for a number of Chase credit cards.
When a credit card account is open and in good standing, the points do not expire. There may be a minimum required to redeem.
