Man Charged With Fatally Stabbing Elderly Asian Woman in San Diego Park

A guy has been taken into custody on charges that he killed an Asian woman with a knife on Monday in the City Heights neighborhood of San Diego.

How did It Happen?

At about 8:20 a.m., when the victim, who was 65, was working out at the Central Avenue Mini Park on Central Avenue, she was attacked. The attacker allegedly came up to her and stabbed her several times for no obvious reason.

Then, at about 8:30 a.m., a witness called 911. The paramedics came and tried to save the person’s life, but the person later died at the scene.

Catching the Suspect

To catch the suspect, the police shared a picture of him or her that was taken by surveillance cameras. Around 5:20 p.m., they went to Hamala Siliveinusi Patafalai’s home on 39th Street, west of Interstate 15, and arrested him. He was taken to San Diego Central Jail because people thought he had killed someone. Police are still trying to figure out why the crime was done.

The tweet below verifies the news:

“Detectives know that the victim was working out in the park when the suspect attacked her, seemingly without notice.” “There is no evidence that there was a fight before the woman was attacked or that she was picked on for a reason,” Lt. Steve Shebloski of the San Diego police said in a statement.
