One of the teens sought in connection with a murder in February has been captured. On Friday, U.S. Marshals located and arrested 19-year-old Amaurie Pender in Rocky Mount, as reported by Rocky Mount police.
Tazion Baines, 19, was shot on February 4 and died later that month, and police have charged Pender with first-degree murder in connection with Baines’ death.
One adolescent was killed and two others were arrested after a shooting in Rocky Mount earlier this month. The 1400 Block of Cokey Road was the location of the early evening gunfire, according to Rocky Mount police.

It was quickly reported to police that upon arrival, Baines had arrived to UNC Nash suffering from a gunshot wound. At first, Pender and the minor were accused of assault with a deadly weapon, namely with the intent to kill or seriously injure.
The kid was remanded to a juvenile facility on allegations of both attempted murder and firearm possession by a minor. Pender is currently detained in the Edgecombe County Jail without bail.
