In a new interview airing on CBS’s “60 Minutes” on Sunday, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) justified calling Democrats “pedophiles,” drawing eye rolls from correspondent Lesley Stahl. “Over-the-top,” remarks like “Democrats are a party of pedophiles” prompted Stahl to question Greene about her views.
“I would definitely say so,” Greene responded. “They support grooming children.”
“They are not pedophiles,” Stahl responded. “Why would you say that? ”
“Democrats support — even Joe Biden the president himself — supports children being s*xualized, having transgender surgeries,” Greene responded. “S*xualizing children is what pedophiles do to children.”
Stahl rolled her eyes at Greene’s reaction, sighed, and muttered “wow,” and then asked if the congresswoman could advocate for her views “without name calling and personal attacks.” “I would ask the same question to the other side. Because all they’ve done is call me names and insult me nonstop since I’ve been here,” Greene said.

“They call me racist. They call me anti-semitic, which is not true. I’m not calling anyone names. I’m calling out the truth basically,” she added. Greene’s statements on the first black woman on the Supreme Court, Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, in April drew criticism. Greene reportedly said that any senator who voted to confirm Brown Jackson was “pro-pedophile just like she is.”

When she wrote in February, “From the sick and disgusting woke culture issues shoved down our throats to the Democrat’s traitorous America Last policies, we are done.” she struck a chord with people on both sides of the political spectrum.
And she’s spread untruths about the 2020 election, the COVID-19 vaccination, and the influx of immigrants at the southern border. Greene has also presented the “Protect Children’s Innocence Act,” a bill that would ban more than a dozen medical procedures for trans adolescents, and has been outspoken in his criticism of gender-affirming care for trans youth.
In late February, the representative claimed that she and her staff were “attacked” by an “insane” woman at a restaurant. “People used to respect others even if they had different views. But not anymore,” Greene added in her tweet at the time. “Our country is gone.”
