Male vocalist Choi Sung-bong, who finished second in the 2011 “Korea’s Got Talent” competition, passed away on Tuesday. He was 33.

According to police and fire officials on Wednesday, Choi was discovered dead by police at his house in the Yeoksam area of southern Seoul at 9:41 a.m. on Tuesday. Choi looked to have committed suicide, according to Seoul’s authorities, according to the Yonhap news agency.
They came to this decision after considering the situation at his home and a note he uploaded on YouTube that seemed to be a suicide note.
“I sincerely apologize to everyone who was harmed by my careless error,” the note added.
After delivering an operatic rendition of Ennio Morricone’s “Nella Fantasia” for the tvN-produced “Korea’s Got Talent” competition, Choi almost missed winning first place and turned his narrow defeat into a record deal with Bong Bong Company. He published a memoir on his ascent from a difficult upbringing in addition to three albums, a few singles, and other works.

In 2021, Choi said he was battling various cancers and as a result, he garnered big donations and public support. His allegations, however, turned out to be false.
After that, he disappeared from the public glare, but he also vowed to pay back the money he had been given. All donations had been given to individuals who requested them, according to his YouTube post.
“I have received love and attention from so many individuals from 2011 to the present. I want to show my gratitude and thank you very much […] Looking back, I did my best to live a regular life for ten years, every day, but in the end, I’m sorry,” he wrote in a YouTube note.
