In a significant breakthrough nearly a year after her disappearance, authorities have made three arrests in the tragic case of 22-year-old Mya Fuller from Murfreesboro. The Wilson County Sheriff’s Office announced the apprehension of two women and one man in connection with the incident.
The suspects, Taiyana Tipton, Ty’Shawne Bowles, and La’Myra Pipkins, face charges related to first-degree murder in perpetration of kidnapping, kidnapping, and abuse of a corpse. The arrests bring a sense of closure to Fuller’s grieving family and the community.
Mya Fuller Cause of Death
The Office of the Medical Examiner revealed that Fuller’s cause of death was attributed to gunshot wounds, with at least two gunshot injuries noted in the medical examiner’s summary. This tragic revelation intensified the investigation and fueled the urgency to bring the perpetrators to justice.

- Taiyana Tipton, 21, of Nashville – Charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of a kidnapping, kidnapping, first-degree murder, and abuse of a corpse.
- Ty’Shawne Bowles, 20, of Nashville – Charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of a kidnapping, kidnapping, and first-degree murder. He is the brother of Taiyana Tipton, as per the police statement.
- La’Myra Pipkins, 20, of Nashville – Charged with first-degree murder in perpetration of kidnapping and kidnapping.
The Investigation and Discovery of Remains
After a painstaking year-long investigation, authorities discovered Mya Fuller’s remains in Wilson County. The 22-year-old was last seen by her family on July 29, 2022.

She was reported to have worked at a Nashville SC soccer game at Geodis Park the following day and was later seen at Island Vibes on Antioch Pike in Nashville on the night of July 30 and early hours of July 31, wearing jeans and pink Puma shoes.

Mya Fuller was a talented individual who excelled academically and played basketball, graduating magna cum laude from Blackman High School in 2018. Her untimely death sent shockwaves through the community, and her family has been seeking closure ever since.

In the pursuit of justice, the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office increased the reward to $5,000 for any information leading to the identification, prosecution, and conviction of those responsible for Fuller’s death.
Additionally, family and friends of the victim raised a private reward, bringing the total reward money for the case to over $22,500. Despite this substantial amount, no one has claimed any reward money yet.
