Meisner was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, on March 8, 1946. He was the second child of Herman and Emilie Meisner, who ran the family farm and worked as farmers, raising maize, beans, alfalfa, and sugar beets. His four grandparents were all immigrants from the Volga German region. Meisner and his older sister Emilie grew up working on the family farm.

When he was ten years old, he started taking guitar lessons and became interested in playing in local bands. Randy Meisner’s Personal Life

Randy Meisner has had two marriages. He wed Jennifer Lee Barton, his high school sweetheart, in 1963. In the same year, the two gave birth to a son; twins followed in 1970. The couple decided to be divorced in 1981 after nearly 20 years of marriage.

Then Meisner started dating Lana Rae. They wed in November 1996 after dating for 12 years, and remained together until her passing in 2016.

Strange things happened throughout the last few years of their marriage and also after Lana Rae passed away. Meisner’s battle with alcoholism was well documented during his tenure with the Eagles. Due to his prior mental health difficulties, Meisner was put under psychiatric detention after the incident.
